PORTUGAL in Crises

Portugal hasn’t only the financial crises. Portugal has a multiplicity of crises: economic, social, Government, politic and Institutional.
Our country needs urgently, strong and very important reforms. Soon Institutional reforms.
We have a public sector with strong problems and over the needs of the country. Portuguese public sector has today 650.000 employers, but all analysts believe that 350.000 people will be enough for our needs in this field.
Portugal has not space for so people. The productivity of public sector is very low, and the excessive people can move for private job and, in this way, create wealth for enterprises and economic system in general.
Portugal has not space for so people in public sector, and the reform of this sector is highly prior.
In Institutional plan, we need too, important measures and reforms. We must have a good and efficient State but less State. We don’t need so Institutes and State Departments that we have. An efficient State is not a long and fat State, but in contrary, a small and productive State. Portugal and our politicians will become more courageous in line to take important measures to do it.
It’s imperious too, courageous measures in economic field. Portugal (State, enterprises and individuals) can’t continue to live above it possibilities. The season on cheap credit it’s over!
We must save more and more than in past. It’s not possible to live with high level of indebtedness.
Our public accounts are the mirror of many years of uncontrolled expenses.

Now, we have a difficult way to run. With our without extern aid, Portugal will find it way, but necessary, a hard way with a strong people sacrifices.
It will be a new loss decade! Especially for young people.
